It’s been 100 years since the founding of one of the most famous fashion houses in the world. It was in 1913 when Mario and Martino Prada opened a leather goods shop in the heart of Milan, and then we all know how it ended. There came his granddaughter, Miuccia Prada, who changed the fate of the name, transforming it into a point of reference for its style and avant-garde design. To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Prada has chosen anadvertising campaign shot by Steven Meisel (this should not be news) starring 11 models wearing the outfits of the spring/summer collection. To celebrate this outfit that only a few of you would wear (could be because of its “20s swimsuit” style, or because of its shape, that does not allow you to weight a few grams more), I’ve decided to cook a recipe that everyone will eat. In this dish, chili pepper is the main protagonist but its spicy flavor is muffled by the sweet taste of steamed codfish steamed seasoned with lemon juice. It’s a bad luck-proof recipe!

INGREDIENTS FOR THE FISH. 4 Codfish fillets + the juice of half a lemon + a tablespoon of parsley + salt.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE SAUCE. 200g (7 oz) Fresh red chili peppers + 2 anchovies in oil + 2 cloves of garlic + half a cup of olive oil + a teaspoon of fresh parsley + salt.

I recommend you wear latex gloves. Wash the peppers, remove the stems and put them in a blender with the garlic, anchovies and a pinch of salt. Blend until the mixture is creamy. Place it in a steel colander and let drain at least 3 hours to remove all excess water. After this time, put the mixture into a bowl, add the oil and mix well until you obtain a smooth cream. Heat the cream sauce over low heat and add salt if necessary. Meanwhile, steam the codfish (or cook in a pan with a little oil, if you prefer). When ready, sprinkle well with the juice of half a lemon (this will help to balance the spiciness of the sauce), add the chopped fresh parsley, a pinch of salt and serve with the chili pepper cream sauce.
