Yellow dress, foulard on her head and a smile full of sweetness. Elena, profession barmaid, entered the Taste of Runway’s living room thanks to the Don Julio’s project, the tequila that makes passion one its strengths. Elena changed her life completely, leaving a job for a new one that came almost by accident. I asked Elena some questions, read her answers.
Tell me something about yourself.
I was born in Cattolica and I have been living in Milan for nearly three years. I love Elvis Presley and I love all the music from the ’50 -’60. I feel very rockabilly, a little rock & roll, a little blues, a little R & B. Something in between Eleonora Duse and Rizzo. After working in the fashion field, I decided to quit everything and change. So, without planning anything, I found myself working as a barmaid.
A woman who shakes cocktails among all these barmen. How do you feel?
At MaG café and 1930 I am surrounded by male colleagues, but I must admit I find myself very well. For me they are almost like a family.
When I come to visit you at MaG café or 1930, Milan’s secret bar, you don’t wear yellow clothes like today, but you have a very unique look, and let me tell you you’re beautiful.
Yes, you are right. I always wear pants, a shirt with armbands and suspenders. This is our look that distinguishes us from other clubs in Milan.
I asked you to bring some object that represent you. What can you tell me?
This is a sacred heart. It’s very important to me and it has a very deep and secret meaning.
Lipstick and nail polish that should always be in a woman’s beauty case.
Elena, what colour is your soul?
Definitely light blue.
Do you like to cook?
Yes, I love cooking. Like a good romagnola, I love fish, pasta and piadina!
I wonder how many cocktails you have dedicated to someone very special or how many times you have found yourself shaking cocktails for others. Today you are the star, and all the flavor of your sweetness is contained in this glass, which is yellow as your outfit.
