Diana-Murek

There are people who touch you down to your soul and never leave you. For me one of these is Diana, program leader at the Instituto Marangoni of Milan and creator of the blog “Into the fashion”. I met her in 2010, when I was a young student and she was my fashion design teacher. Since then, we haven’t forgotten each other. Intelligent, intellectual and hilarious, Diana is one of the most interesting people I know. With her subtle humor, she has the ability to change your evening. Diana has taught me to be precise, to respect deliveries and to be practical, because everybody likes to be an artist, but the most important thing is quality, wheter you are a blogger or whatever your job is. Do you know the most amazing thing she did? She taught me to always look beyond, to capture every nuance in things, and she especially made it clear with her blog that fashion is nothing but inspiration and continuous changes. I asked Diana some questions, here are her answers.

Your name and your city of birth?

Diana Marian Murek, I was born in Hamburg.

What do you do?

I am a programme leader at Instituto Marangoni and author of the blog “Into the fashion”.

I was one of your students. Can I say that we’re friends now?

Of course.

Your favorite food?

I love Paolo’s mother handmade cappelletti in broth. Paolo is my boyfriend and his mother is an excellent cook who delights me with her white tiramisu with pineapple which is too good to be true.

There is a dish that you cook well?

Carbonara pasta with bacon, Parmesan cheese and organic egg. But also cabbage rolls stuffed with minced meat with carrots and cucumbers in vinegar and chicory.

What’s your favourite drink?

Franciacorta wine or champagne. In the summer I love drinking “piscine”, a glass of champagne on ice, which I enjoy in full relax.

What is one thing that is never missing on your table?

Extra virgin olive oil from Marche, prepared by my in-laws.

Your favorite look?

A total black or total white outfit. I love coats.

I asked you to bring some objects that represent you. What do you have?

“Noi facciamo loro guardano”, an Antonio Marras and Carol Rama’s book catalog about the Alghero exhibition of 2006, dedicated to a series of exhibitions called Trama Doppia. The catalog shows their works and traces a story of their relationship. I love it!

Diana, what color is your soul?

I am sure it is striped. Black and white.

Now I’m going to cook you. Your outfit by Costume National has inspired me to prepare a delicious arroz con leche, which I like as a snack or dessert after dinner. It’s so tasty.

 

Recipe. FOR 4 PEOPLE

1 liter and 250 ml  (42 fl oz) milk + 115 g (4 oz) rice + 70 g (2.5 oz) brown sugar + the zest of one organic lemon + 2 cinnamon sticks + 1 vanilla pod.

In a deep pot put the milk, let it simmer and add the rice. Stir. Add cinnamon sticks, vanilla and lemon zest. Cook on low heat for 30 minutes, stirring the rice in order to avoid it sticking on the pot. After this time, the mixture will begin to be compact. Then add sugar, stir for a minute until it dissolves and let stand off the heat for 15 minutes. Serve warm. Enjoy your dessert!
