Hussein Chalayan has always been the designer of metamorphosis. In Paris, during his fashion show, nothing is as it seems. It may happen that what you think is an umbrella is actually a hat, a jacket is suddenly transformed into a dress or, as it happened in 2000, a wooden coffee table becomes a skirt. His ability to surprise is endless, but all the things that our imagination can create are also amazing. For example, with this cocktail created for the project #GrandMarnierLovesCharm, you can surprise anyone, even the most refined palates. The real surprise is the layer of salt on the rim of the glass. When you taste it, your lips will be immersed in this interesting flavor. I suggest you try this recipe on a date, the salty taste on your lips will cause an involuntary reflex, making you bite them constantly to “clean them up”.
Recipe. FOR 1 GLASS
20 ml (0.70 fl oz) Grand Marnier + + 30 ml Gin (1 fl oz) + 10 ml (0.4 fl oz) rose syrup (you can find it ready-made) + 1/2 fresh squeezed lime + 2 slices of mashed cucumber + rose salt + ice cubes.
Prepare the rose salt by blending some sea salt with some dried edible rosebuds. Take the cocktail glass and rub its rim with a lime cut in half. Put the rose salt in a saucer and turn the glass upside down in the salt. Move the glass around until the rim is coated. Mash the cucumber in a shaker, add the other ingredients, shake and strain through a sieve into the glass (previously coated with rose salt). Garnish with lime and dried rose buds.
