Taste of Runway presents: Bottega Veneta - brownies

The creative director Tomas Maier has designed this collection with the aim of inspiring joy, and in order to do this, he has chosen extraordinary fabrics such as silk and cotton jersey, silk satin, chiffon and crepe, unusual finishes and exuberant prints. The silhouette is fluid and sensual, and the palette of colors goes from bright tones up to an explosion of energy, even of happiness (as Mr. Maier would say), and then cream, white, purple, black, red, green, orange in its darker shade and chocolate brown. You’ve got it, after reading the word “chocolate” and seeing this look I had no choice. I had to commit the “crime” of cooking. What did I cook? Well, the result you can see by yourself and it’s called a brownie, a typical cake with an American flavor that takes its name from its dark color. The preparation is very easy, it is simply a rectangular shaped cake to be cut into cubes. Come on, take off your Bottega Veneta dress and put on a nice wrap around apron! Taste of Runway made this cake with the aim of inspiring joy and in order to do this, we have chosen extraordinary ingredients such as chocolate, cocoa powder, butter, sugar, eggs, hazelnuts…  Let’so do brunch with style.it

 

Recipe. FOR A RECTANGULAR MOLD (28x20cm)

100g (3.5 oz) Sugar + 150g (5.2 oz) butter + 200g (7 oz) + dark chocolate + 100g (3.5 oz) flour (type 00) + 60g walnuts + 2 eggs + 2 tablespoons cocoa powder + 1 teaspoon baking powder + 1 pinch of salt.

Put the butter in a saucepan and melt over low heat. Chop the chocolate coarsely into pieces and add it to the pan with the melted butter. Put the cocoa powder and stir well with a spatula to mix the ingredients. Remove from heat and let cool slightly, until warm. In a bowl, mix the eggs with the sugar and whip for 2 minutes, then slowly add the mixture (chocolate, butter and cocoa) previously obtained, the sifted flour and the baking powder. Mix well and finally add the hazelnuts chopped with a knife, while stirring thoroughly. Pour the mixture into a rectangular mold (about 28x20cm/11×8 inch) lined with baking paper. Bake at 189° (356° F) for 35 minutes. Once ready, let the cake stand in the oven for 10 minutes before cutting into cubes. Enjoy your brownies day!
