Where do you think you are going if you don’t have an Appleton?

Imagine you have been invited to dinner by Campari (yes, the Campari Group), and imagine you are told in advance that you will have to forget for a few hours your real nationality and enter the atmosphere of Jamaica… That wonderful country where the sugar cane grows in the Caribbean sun and, through an old process, is transformed into rum. The result? A fabulous fish dinner accompanied by cocktails instead of the usual wine. I have to admit that after the third daiquiri I felt light as a feather and I already had reggae music mixed with alcohol in my veins. For a moment I felt the free spirit of Bob Marley whisper to me “Is this love, is this love, is this love, is this love that I’m feeling” and I answered “Every day and every night.” Now try it yourself: arrange a fish dinner and drink daiquiris instead of wine. The evening will become really interesting… Therefore I would suggest to let a friend of yours keep your phone: you don’t want to ruin the best moment of your night by sending out dramatic love sms texts to people!


Recipe. FOR 1 GLASS

1 Lime + 60ml (2 fl oz) Appleton rum + 30ml (1 fl oz) liquid sugar.

Halve the lime and squeeze out the juice. Put all ingredients in a shaker and pour the drink into the glass previously cooled.
