“Antò, it’s hot…”*
If you don’t have an “Antonio” by your side to whom you can say “Antò, it’s hot”, do not panic. With this very fast recipe, you will have the excuse to invite many “Antonios” to dinner (and maybe one will remain by your side, who knows). If your list of “Antonios” is empty or even non-existent, no problem! If it’s hot, it’s hot (there is no doubt) and you can take the opportunity for a refreshing lunch or dinner based on watermelon and Greek feta cheese, mint and lime flavored water and a table of friends. So, cool down and sooner or later your “Antonio” will come.
Recipe. FOR 4 PEOPLE
200g (7 oz) Greek Feta cheese + 3 slices of watermelon + 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil + salt + pepper + 1 pinch of oregano + a few leaves of fresh basil.
Dice the feta and watermelon. Put it in a large bowl, add the oil, salt, pepper, oregano and chopped basil. Stir well and mix the ingredients with care. With the help of a square pastry ring make a cube with the fresh flavor of the salad.
*It was 2001 when a famous brand of iced tea advertised its product by suggesting it was a perfect antidote to the scorching heat. The protagonist, and hot and sensual woman, rejected the advances of her partner, complaining about the heat. Very smartly, he offered her an iced tea. Refreshed by the drink, she called to her partner with the sentence “Antò, it’s cold” giving herself in to love. Since then, the phrase “Antò, it’s hot” has entered the Italian common language.
